ADVOCACY & NETWORKING

WLP engages in a wide range of advocacy and networking activities in order to raise awareness about women's human rights issues, influence policymakers and public opinion, and increase the visibility and impact of our work for gender equality.

In cooperation with partners, WLP implements campaigns to advance women’s rights. We support partner organizations’ advocacy for policy and legislative change at the national level. We aim to raise the international visibility of partner campaigns, using communications tools such as blogs, Human Rights Alerts, eNews, and our website, as well as hosting events for activists, policymakers, media, and the public.

WLP plays a leadership and coordination role in a number of important social justice networks, including:

• Women Leaders Intercultural Forum
• International Women’s Democracy Network
• Global Women’s Action Network for Children
• Gender at Work

Our partner organizations are leaders in a range of national and regional networks in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

WLP also creates opportunities for South-South and South-North dialogue, to ensure that the voices of women from the Global South, particularly Muslim-majority societies, are heard in international debates. Dialogue takes place at both live events, such as symposia and panels, as well as virtual meetings. The proceedings are shared through a wide range of multimedia materials.
